Amy Williams is a visual artist working with local communities and organisations to create work that bring stories to life and communities together

Amy works on large scale socially engaged art projects, installations and artwork for parades and festivals.

She aims to engage a wide audience, creating work that is both accessible and inspiring. Her work often includes varying degrees of community engagement either in the making of the work or adding to it once made.

Amy has a BA Hons Fine Art/Sculpture and an MA in Illustration, over the last 17 years Amy has been developing her skills in paper, creating both 2d and 3d work. An Arts Council funded project awarded in 2024 -2025 enabled her to develop these skills further.

She has taken on many commissions including the National Trust, Lowther Castle, Rheged Gallery and Blackwell Arts and Crafts House in Cumbria. Since 2023 she has been part of the creative team working for Torchlight, a local community parade creating large lanterns and giant puppets.

As a freelance community arts facilitator, she has much experience working with different groups with a passion in inspiring creativity in others. Play, nature and people are at the heart of her practice.
